Marksman Award Scheme Criteria
Introduction
The UBC Marksman Award Scheme is based upon the NRA pistol qualification programme. The aim of the award is to encourage pistol enthusiasts to improve their multi shot pistol handling skills and marksmanship.
The scheme consists of 6 awards, of increasing levels of difficulty. It is structured so that all participants regardless of their level of ability have a reasonable chance of attaining an award and are challenged to stretch themselves further to develop their skills.
The scheme is open to UBC members or UBC forum registrants.
Participants must meet the requirements on one award before moving on to the next.
This is an open scheme and individuals can start at any time during the year. The requirements for each level of award must be met before the next award can be attempted. Each award should be attempted over the course of a month. It is not possible to attempt more than one award within the same month. The scheme managers will maintain a database of member’s achievements that can be viewed by all UBC members via the competitions website.
A question of honour!
The UBC is an international on line club. Monthly competitions are run on the ‘honour system’ as it is simply not practical to have entries validated in the way that some organisations run postal competitions. The scheme runs in the same way and relies on the honesty of individual participants. Sure, you can cheat if you want to but at the end of the day who are you cheating? Yourself! Do the honourable thing, hold your head up high and be honest!
